A new adeptware.com
Back in 2009 we relaunched this site with a new look and a promise to post here more often. Seventeen years later, it was time to do it again. Today we’re launching a completely redesigned adeptware.com.
Why now?
A lot has changed since the last redesign. We’ve spent the years since building and maintaining software for clients, some of whom have been with us for more than a decade, and running our own products. The old site hadn’t kept up. It said very little about what we actually do, and almost nothing about the work we’ve done.
What’s new
- A refreshed look: a cleaner, more modern design, along with a facelift for the Adeptware logo.
- Our services, explained: each thing we do now has its own page, covering custom web applications, Rails upgrades and maintenance, e-commerce and integrations, iPhone and iPad apps, business websites, and technical advising. Each one explains what is included and answers common questions.
- Our work: a new Work page highlights two decades of client projects across healthcare, e-commerce, education, government technology, construction, and more. Client names stay confidential, but the work speaks for itself.
- Our products: the Products page covers Transcript Maker, the high school transcript app we’ve run since 2006, along with the open source Ruby libraries we maintain.
- The news archive: every post going back to 2009 made the move, so the news archive is still the place to find our announcements and conference recaps.
Under the hood
The site is now a fast, static site, built with Jekyll and hosted on Render. It works well on phones, loads quickly, and is easier for search engines to understand. Links to the old site’s pages still work, too, and redirect to their new homes.
Let’s talk
If your business depends on software, whether it’s an application that needs to be built, an aging Rails app that needs care, or a system that needs to talk to another one, we’d love to hear about it. Tell us about your project and we’ll follow up with next steps.
