Our story
Two decades of building for the web.
Adeptware was founded in 2006 by Matthew Bass, a software developer who has been building web applications with Ruby on Rails since the framework's early days. Before starting Adeptware, Matthew built enterprise Java applications at SAS Institute and worked on an Extreme Programming team at RoleModel Software. Adeptware has become a long-running practice with its own software products and clients who have trusted us with their applications for many years.
In 2006 we launched Transcript Maker, which has since helped thousands of homeschool families produce their high school transcripts. Along the way we have spoken at Ruby conferences, published open source libraries used around the world, and delivered custom applications for businesses ranging from local contractors to national online retailers, in industries from healthcare to education publishing. Today we focus on the work we do best: building dependable Rails applications, modernizing the ones that have fallen behind, connecting the systems businesses run on, and shipping polished apps for iPhone and iPad.
We would rather build something that is still running smoothly ten years from now than something that just looks good at launch.
